Secor Family Genealogy: Exploring Our Ancestry

Secor Loyalists During the Revolution

At the time of the revolutionary war, some descendents of Ambrose Sicard remained loyal to England. They changed their name to Secord to set themselves apart from their rebelious relatives. After the war was over, they lost all of their land and moved to several different parts of Canada.

Our Secor ancestor from this time, Isaac Secor, did fight in the revolutionary war. His wife, Abigail Halstead Secor, collected his pension from his death in 1836 until she died in 1860.
