Secor Family Genealogy: Exploring Our Ancestry
I Diltz Larew of the township of Delaware in the county of Hunterdon, State of New Jersey being feeble in body and admonished of the shortness and uncertainty of this life. Yet through the favour of a kind Providence permitted to retain a sound mind and memory do make publish and declair this my last will and Testament in manner and form following - to wit:

First, I do order and direct that my Executor hereinafter named shall sell and dispose of all my personal property at public sale giving due notice of the time and place of such sale as soon after my decease as convenient and proper.

Secondly, I do order and direct my said Executor to sell and dispose of my real estate at such time, in such manner and upon such terms as he shall deem most conducive to the interest of my estate.

Thirdly I do order and direct said executor out of the moneys coming into his hands from my Estate or that may accrue from the sale of my personal and real estate to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses.

Fourthly, I do give and bequeath to my beloved wife Susan J. Larew all that remains of my estate after the payment of the debts and expenses of settleing the same and the said remainder to remain in the hands of my said Executor for the use and benefit of her the said Susan J. Larew to be paid to her as she may need it or her circumstances require for her substinence and comfort for and during the term of her natural life or as long as any such moneys shall remain in the hands or invested for her use.

Fifthly, If any of said moneys invested by the foregoing bequest for the use and benefit of my said wife shall remain after her decease and the payment of her funerel expences I do give and bequeath to my five children Daniel A. Larew, Watson F. Larew, Huldah Grovendyke (wife of Ebenezer), Rachel Matilda Smith (wife of John F. S. Smith) and Susan Larew to be divided equally share and share alike.

Sixthly, I do hereby make ordain and appoint my beloved son Daniel A. Larew Executor of this my last will and Testament hereby empowering him to all and whatsoever is nessesary to administer my said estate and execute this my last will and Testament.

In witness whereof I Diltz Larew the Testator have to this my will written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this twenty second day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty two.

Hunterdon County, Silas Huffman one of the witnesses to the within will being sworn did depose and say that he saw Dilts Larew the testator therein name Sign and Seal the Same, and heard him publish pronounce and declare the within writing to be his last will adn Testament and that at the doing thereof the said testator was of Sound and disposing Mind and Memory as far as this deponent knows and as he verily believes and that Thomas C. johnson and Samuel Sproul the other Subscribing witnesses were present at the Same time and Signed their names as witnesses to the Said will, together with deponent in the presence of the testator.

Sworn and Subscribed Before me at Flemington, December 1st A.D. 1862, David Van Fleet Surrogate

Hunterdon County, Daniel A. Larew sole executor in the within testament named being duly Sworn did depose and Say that the within instrument Contains the tru last will and testament of Dilts Larew the testator therein named so far as he knows and as he verily believes, that he will well adn truly perform the same by paying first the debts of the Said deceased, and then the Legacies in Said testament specified so far as the Goods, chattles and Credits of the Said deceased can thereunto extend and that he will make and exhibit unto the Surrogate Office at Flemington a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattles and credits of the Said deceased that have or shall Come to his knowledge or possession or to the possession of any other person or persons for his use and render a just and true account when thereunto Lawefully required.

Hunterdon County, Silas Huffman one of the appraisors of the within inventory on his Oath Saith that the Goods chattles and Credits in the Said Inventory Set down and Specified were by him appraised according to their just and true respective rates and believes after the best of his Judgement and understanding - and that James Snyder the other appraisor whose name is thereunto Subscribed was present at the Same time and consented in all things to the doing thereof - and that they appraised all things brought to their views for appraisment.
